TKP-ML Central Committee: We Remember Those Who Became Immortal in the Struggle for Revolution and Communism!

Statement: 2026/3

“Re-form the Ranks, Tomorrow There Will Be Another Battle!”

We Remember Those Who Became Immortal in the Struggle for Revolution and Communism!

We are going through a period in which the wheel of history is turning faster. As the old order disappears, the birth pangs of the new are being experienced. The process brings to mind Chairman Mao’s words: ‘There is chaos under the heavens, the conditions are perfect.’ Under these conditions, we once again commemorate those who have become immortal in the struggle for freedom, independence, people’s democracy, revolution, and communism.

At its First Conference in February 1978, our Party declared the last week of January each year as ‘Party and Revolution Martyrs’ Remembrance Week’ to commemorate those who immortalised themselves in the class struggle and to embrace their struggle. The immortal leaders and teachers of the international proletariat, V.I. Lenin, Rosa Luxemburg, and Karl Liebknecht, were immortalised in January. The communist leaders of the Turkish proletariat and oppressed people, M. Suphi and the Fifteen, were murdered this month. Ali Haydar Yıldız, a member of our Party and the first commander of our people’s army, and Meral Yakar, also a member of our Party and one of the leading cadres of the communist women’s struggle, were immortalised this month.

January is therefore a week of symbolic importance in the struggle of the working class and the oppressed peoples of the world for liberation from exploitation, independence, freedom, revolution, and communism. Consequently, every year during the last week of January, our party commemorates the martyrs of the international proletariat and the oppressed peoples of the world who fell in the struggle for revolution and communism and resolutely embraces the struggle practices they left behind for the working class, the labouring people, and the oppressed nations.

This year, we are facing the last week of January in a period marked by numerous signs of a new imperialist war of division. Internationally and in our region, the imperialists and regional reactionary forces are preparing for the Third Imperialist War of Division. On one side, the imperialists of the US, Britain, and the EU; on the other, the imperialists of China and Russia, along with the regional reactionary forces aligned with these two imperialist camps, are preparing with all their might for a new imperialist war of division. The US and British imperialists are the main actors in imperialist war provocation. The Chinese and Russian imperialists, on the other hand, are more in a defensive position.

Those who propagated that ‘the class struggle is over’ by removing the masks from the faces of modern revisionist powers and openly annexing them to the capitalist camp are now facing reality. Those who yesterday proclaimed the ‘victory’ of imperialism are today once again confronted with the reality of imperialism’s genocide, occupation, banditry, and exploitation.

In addition to all these attacks and threats, imperialists are raising the bar in their ideological and theoretical attacks on socialism and communism at every opportunity. They want to discard even the idea of armed struggle. Because they also know that it is armed struggle and revolution that will bring about their own demise and open the door to a future filled with freedom. In light of the lessons they have drawn from the history of class struggle in general and the First and Second Imperialist World Wars in particular, they are fighting against socialism and communism on all fronts. The international proletariat, the peoples of the world, and their vanguard, the Marxist-Leninist-Maoist parties and organizations, must apply the lessons learned from history and intensify the ideological, political, and armed struggle against imperialism, capitalism, fascism, patriarchy, and all forms of reaction. Otherwise, there will be no world left to fight for.

For those who sanctify the private property regime and underestimate the struggle for communism will witness that, at this stage, not only humanity but all living beings and the planet are being driven to extinction due to capitalism’s excessive greed for profit. What is happening once again vindicates Rosa Luxemburg’s prediction, immortalised in the last week of January: ‘Either Socialism or Barbarism.’

The genocide perpetrated against the Palestinian people in Gaza is a reality of our time. The war that began with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine continues unabated, despite the killing of hundreds of thousands of people. In Syria, murderers who are enemies of humanity are once again killing Druze and Alawites and threatening the Kurds with genocide. In India, indigenous peoples are being massacred under the guise of “fighting Maoists”. US imperialism continues its aggression against the peoples of South America, which it has declared its “backyard”. Unrestrained imperialism and all kinds of reactionary aggression are now in full swing.

As a result of all kinds of attacks by imperialism and all kinds of regional reactionaries, Palestinian resistance fighters in Gaza, Arab and Kurdish fighters in Rojava, and Kurdish guerrillas in Iraq have been immortalised. Again, in the Philippines, our comrades at various levels in the New Democratic Revolution struggle have been immortalised. In India, hundreds of our comrades, including Comrade Namballa Kesava Rao, General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), some of whom were in leadership positions, have been immortalised in the reactionary Indian state’s attacks on the Communist Party of India (Maoist) under the name of the “Kagar War”.

Our party pays tribute to our revolutionary friends and comrades who have fallen in both the national liberation struggles and the struggles for the New Democratic Revolution, Socialism and Communism, bows before their memory of struggle, and embraces their resistance. The way to resist this new offensive policy deployed by the counter-revolutionary front is to embrace the legacy of struggle of those who have passed away and to advance their struggles further.

This task must also be undertaken in conjunction with the establishment of anti-imperialist and anti-fascist alliances both in our region and internationally, and with various steps towards the unity of the international communist movement, in opposition to a new imperialist war of division. In this practical time, the words of our party’s founding leader, Comrade İbrahim Kaypakkaya, “Stop complaining, comrades, what’s done is done. Reorganise the ranks, the fight continues tomorrow!”.

Once again, we reaffirm our commitment to the struggles of our comrades who have become immortal in the name of national independence, revolution, and communism.

Once again, we commemorate our comrades who have immortalised themselves in the struggle for freedom, independence, people’s democracy, socialism, and communism, both internationally and in our own region, where the struggle of classes rages on, starting with the hundreds of martyrs of our party. We declare that their legacy of struggle is the guarantee of our victory.

Glory to those who have become immortal in the struggle for revolution and communism!

Long live proletarian internationalism!

Long live Marxism-Leninism-Maoism!
