CPI (Maoist): Fight against the government's treatment of tribes as Hindus

Fight the government's treatment of tribes as Hindus

We are indigenous people and indigenous Hindus are not us

Dear Indigenous Peoples, Our Party calls on all of you to unite and raise your voices against the Hindus of the indigenous peoples. A few days ago, Amit Shah, Minister of Interior of Assam, a powerful indigenous province, announced that the digitization of the census in the country will be completed by 2024. This makes it clear that they are in a hurry to complete the census. It would be a great mistake to complete the census program by ignoring the wishes of the millions of indigenous peoples in the country. This situation is strongly condemned by the Regional Bureau of our party.

Indigenous people make up about 8,4 percent of the country's population. But the Indian ruling class refuses to recognize them as indigenous people. In particular, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the main organization of the hardline forces, recognizes our indigenous people as exiles in order to end their existence. During the British rule, the natives of our country were defined as belonging to the nature religion. They are also included in the census list in the same way. However, in the post-independence census of Sokald, the natives are still referred to as Hindus. Our party strongly condemns this conspiracy of the Indian ruling class. Our party demands that all indigenous peoples of the country be recognized separately under the name of nature religion and registered under it.

Many tribes in our country ask. Many tribes today are on the verge of extinction. They are recognized as PVTG groups by the Government of India. In fact, their subordination to these destructive conditions is nothing but the neglect of the ruling classes. Ignoring their progress pushes them towards extinction.

The Indian government, on the other hand, names them Hindus in the census to render their existence and identity unrecognizable. Prepared by the Government of India in recent years, the CAA identifies six religions and millions of indigenous peoples in the country as part of Hinduism. Thereupon, millions of locals protested and demanded the Center to abolish the CAA. Now once again they hang the so-called census sword around their necks. That is why our party asks you all to unite and demand the government's recognition for Indigenous Peoples separately. Otherwise, we call for a boycott of the census. Join the fight for justice with the slogan No Indigenous – No to the Census.

With revolutionary greetings

Central District,

Communist Party of India (Maoist)
