LONG LIVE THE PARIS COMMUNE!
ETERNAL GLORY TO ITS HEROES!
On March 18, 1871, 150 years ago, the working class of Paris, leading the working people, dared to take the skies by storm, opening the road to the definitive emancipation of humanity.
The Paris Commune represents the first conquest of power by the international proletariat. The working class raised the red flag to never again lower it no matter how many setbacks and failures there might be on the road to the final victory. It is an enduring example of the morale defense of the proletariat willing to make the necessary sacrifice to build a new socialist order in its march to communism.
The Commune discovered the need to demolish the bourgeois state and establish the dictatorship of the proletariat, in the form of people’s democracy, disappearing the old army and building the armament of the people. They proclaimed the separation of the church from the state, secular education, abolition of tithes, abolition of fines, all abandoned workshops and factories would be handed over to the workers who would organize production cooperatives.
It also took other important proletarian measures such as the revocability of positions, the workers’ salary for officials, the seizure of factories abandoned or paralyzed by the bourgeoisie, the cancellation of usurious debts that burdened the people, the use of church property in favor of the people. It was an authentically democratic government, The Commune is an example of how the proletariat and the people fulfill democratic tasks in a consistent manner, The Commune created a new type of state, the socialist state.
As Frederick Engels said: “Look at the Paris Commune: behold the dictatorship of the proletariat!”
A direct consequence of the Commune was the establishment of Marxism as the ideology of the international proletariat and the need for a proletarian party to lead the conquest of power, defeating anarchism.
In 150 years the Commune bore great fruits. The proletariat conquered and maintained power in Russia, China and other countries, coming to form a powerful socialist camp. It applied the dictatorship of the proletariat against the bourgeoisie, democracy for the working class and the people and discovered how to pursue the socialist revolution through cultural revolutions. It raised its ideology to a second stage, Leninism, and then to a new, third and higher stage, Maoism, building parties of a new type and a Communist International to make the world revolution in relentless struggle against revisionism.
And although socialism has been temporarily defeated, it has been defeated above all by insufficient development of the new forces, the strength of the old ideas, in the socialist societies that made them retreat and in the face of the convergent action of revisionism, the bourgeoisie within the Party, and imperialism; but it will rebuild itself, and with the example of the Commune, the great experience of 150 years and the development of its ideology, it will solve new problems, it will be superior and invincible.
The Communist fighters resisted to the end the united attacks of the French and Prussian reactionaries who united to crush the proletariat. Their exemplary heroism is a luminous banner that cries out for revolution. We Marxist-Leninist-Maoist communists promise on this historic date to always continue their example, striving today to defend Marxism-Leninism-Maoism and to place it as the command and guide of the world proletarian revolution.
